China Bowl--Seafood&Cantonese Cuisine

China Bowl King Chinese Restaurant is a famous Cantonese cuisine restaurant on Route 27. It has been serving Edison, Highland Park and surrounding areas for over 20 years. After two years long redecoration, the China Bowl Restaurant finally re-open on Tuesday, August 7th, 2012.

Cantonese cuisine is one of the four great tradition Chinese Cuisines. It uses a wide variety of ingredients. As the saying goes, “the Cantonese will eat anything that swims, except the submarine; everything that flies, except the plane; and everything that had legs, except the table.” This cuisine had more than 20 cooking methods, such as stir-fry, bake, braise, stew and so on. There are some special seasoning like XO sauce, fish sauce, sand tea sauce, mei cade sauce and ginger wine sauce.

Although China Bowl does not inherit the variety of ingredients, the chefs do carry on the cooking methods and special seasonings.

Dish Recommend:
Roast Duck: although the translation is similar with the Beijing roast duck, it is two different way of cooking. The roast duck stove for Beijing duck is sealed, and they won’t add any seasoning while cooking. You will dip them into the sauce when you eating. However, the Cantonese roast duck is baked on the open stove. The chef will add different seasonings like honey while baking. Roast duck in China Bowl are authentic and tasty. If you like sweat flavor, you should try this dish.

They also offer Yum cha here. It is a term in Cantonese, which literally means, "drink tea". However, Yum cha is not only drinking tea, but also eating different kinds of small snacks such as Shrimp Dumpling, egg tart and braised chicken feet.

This restaurant provides private party room for all occasions, so it is a good place for business lunch, birthday party and so on. You could contact them at 732-572-7272 to make the reservation.
