Hong Fu CHinese Cuisine--Shanghai Cuisine

The first restaurant I want to recommend is Hong Fu Chinese Cuisine, which is located at 239 Route 27, Highland Park, NJ 08904.

Hong Fu Chinese Cuisine is famous for Shanghai Cuisine, which is characterized by thick oil, soy sauce and sugar.

Like other Restaurant, Hong Fu Chinese Cuisine also has two different menus, for Chinese customs and Americans.

"Of course it is different,” the owner of Hong Fu Chinese Cuisine said, “because not every Americans can accept real Chinese food.”

However, if you are REAL Chinese food fan, you could always tell the waitress that you want to try something different from American Chinese food. Then, she will recommend some special dishes to you.
English&Chinese Menu

“Most American customs will like Crispy Beef with Orange Flavor and Jumbo Prawn with Spicy Pepper Salt. Their favorite vegetable is Pea Shoots, and most of them don’t like Vegetable Sponge.” The waitress of Hongfu Chinese Cuisine said.

Food Recommend:

Pork Steamed Juicy Bun—one of my favorite dish. It is a ball-shaped dumpling with a whorl-like pattern on the top. It is filled with pork and soup. When you eat it, you first lift it up carefully dipping it into the vinegar; then, you put it in a spoon and take a little bite of the skin. Drink the soup in side from the small hole first then eat rest of the dumpling. You must be CAREFUL when you life it, because the skin is really thin and easy to break.

Dongpo Braised Pork—this dish is named after reversed Song Dynasty poet Su Dongpo, who invented or at least inspired it. It is made from a piece pork belly, so there are half fat and half meat. However, due to the way of cooking, the fat will not taste very greasy。

Every weekend, Hong Fu Chinese Cuisine will serve special Chinese snack, such as Youtiao (deep-fried twisted dough sticks, common Chinese breakfast), Toufu nao (jellied bean curd, soft tofu with sauce on it) and so on.

    1. Yes, they do have delivery service, if you want to call them, there is the phone number 732-247-8813; 732-246-8573. There is a trick: if you order juicy Bun in restaurant, they will give you 6 buns; but if you order by delivery service, they will give you 8 buns:)
