Sichuan Spring Chinese Restaurant is
Sichuan Cuisine, which characterized by spiciness, numbness, sourness,
sweetness, heavy oil and thick flavor. Without chilies, ginger, pepper and
Chinese red pepper, the dish cannot be called Sichuan Cuisine. People who like
spicy good or want to challenge themselves should definitely try this
restaurant.
Sichuan Spring provides both regular
Chinese dish and hot pot. The hot post soup is $9.95 and you can order other
meat and vegetable you want separately. However, I don’t recommend their hot
pot because their meat slice is thick and the dip sauce does not taste good.
Every weekend Sichuan Spring will offer a different
half price dish in order to attract and return custom’s favor.
Sichuan Spring’s lunch special is my favorite.
During the week, it has lunch special everyday from 11am to 3pm for 5.95 dollar.
When our school has a day off or during the break, I always go to Sichuan
Spring for lunch. They offer free soup and Scallion Pancake if you order lunch
special. There are three different kinds of soup called egg Drop soup, hot and
sour soup and meatball soup. You can try each kinds of soup and find the one
you like.
(Menu online, has both Chinese and English)
Dish Recommend:
Kung Pao(Gong Bao) Chicken
A spicy stir-fry dish made with chicken,
peanut, vegetables and chili pepper. This dish is served in many Chinese restaurants,
but I like Sichuan Spring’s best. You will experience both spiciness and
numbness together.
Sautéed Double Pork Bacon with Spicy Sauce
(Hui Guo meat)
If you translate this dish literally from
Chinese, it will be “meat that has been returned to the pot”. The name
explained how we cook this dish. First, you boiling the belly pork steak chunk
with ginger and salt. Then you take it out and cut it into thin slices.
Finally, the pork is returned to hot oil and fried again. I can promise this
will be the most delicious dish with both fat and meat. Highly recommend!
Ma-Po’s Bean Curd with Meat (MaPo Tofu)
It is named after its creator, a
freckle-face woman (translate in Chinese is MaPo) from Sichuan who lived during
the Qing Dynasty. When tender tofu, minced beef crispy, fresh scallions become
together, you will feel fascination of Sichuan Cuisine.
